dimitris1dimitris2dimitris3dimitris4Dimitris YETI AS-R (Added February 2010)

My name is dimitris and I really like my bike
Pics are before first ride, and they are nothing special, but it will never be that clean again and also i have not any others now...
Weight 11.26 kilos but could be less i think with a stem / tires / saddle.

I dont care though, it rides really well - i m happy

I used to ride a asrsl-2006, and this models geometry I think is better. I like the 69 head angle

In a word I would say "fast!" - Dimitris

Some pics of my Yeti. I've wanted a Yeti for 15 years and have at long last got one. From back in the day when I was 15 and was racing on a Specialised Hardrock then a GT Avalanche to a GT Zaskar.

At long long last, not a brand new frame but the ASR-C will be next year (2009)

Bike is built with XTR - front and rear mech, shifters, Hollowtech 2 chainset, XTR chain and rear cassette, Crank bro.s 2 Ti pedals, Fox RL - 100 forks, Hope Mini M4 brakes with floating rotors and braided hoses, Chris King Headset, Chris King hubs on Mavic 717, Ritchey WCS stem and post, EC90 bars and loads of other goodies\plus loads of Ti goodies. Hit the scales at 25Ibs ish.

All the best for 2009 and i'll get my DJ up when I get it built along with my ASR-C whenever funds allow.

Here is the picture of my brand new AS-R Alloy '08 Small Turquoise.

The bike is set up with XTR crankset, brakeset, front and rear mech, Thomson seatpost, Ritchey stem, Easton Monkeylite handlebars and Stans Olympic rims fitted on XTR hubs, Selle Italia SLR and Conti Speed King 2.1 supersonic.

The weight of this wonderful XC weapon is 22.50 Lbs (complete with pedals).

The handling, balance and suspensions feel are just amazing !

At the 2008 Bristol Bike Fest, my teammate Rich was riding his hardtail and he borrowed my AS-R for the last relay of the race and dropped an impressive 1min38s from his fastest time ! When i asked his feeling about the bike, he just said : "This bike is just f***ing brilliant !" and he also added he could have dropped another 2 min. with fresh legs !!!.

A big thanks to Yetifan for the very good website and Evolution Cycles to import in UK one of the best bike brand ever.

Happy trails.   Matt Le French (from Cheltenham).

What an bit of kit. Comes in at 23 lbs. Built it myself by sourcing all the kit on the web. The spec includes Fox F120 forks, XT front, rear mech and cassette, XTR shifters, Hope mini's with 160 floating rotors, Superstar XC wheelset, (great value for the money, 1680grms), Aerozine chainset, Ritchey Pro stem and bars, and SDG I beam seatpost and Formula saddle. Took me a whole day on the Saturday to build, and saved me a stack of money. The bike is like a whippet, agile on the singletrack, and quick up the hills. Just let down by the rider. Bristol Bike Fest here we come. Let the fun begin.

Hello people,

I'm living in California, where the women are beautiful and it does get a little hot. Anyway, sometimes I just go into my garage and spend quality time with my dog and my "White Lightning". This photo was taken when my baby was only hours old, still at the bicycle maternity ward. I have been riding mountain bikes for sixteen years (cannondale, specialized, gary), but this is the greatest thing I've straddled to date. Just like my wife, this baby is a head turner. Thanks for showing me yours, now here is mine

sashaasr1UKflagBig T's new Yeti AS-R (Added Feb 08)

Built up for my wife it weighs a mere 19.9lbs this bike is like a whippet. It has been built with sub 1300g wheels using Stans Race rims, so it accelerates quickly and holds speed easily. It is an impressive bike that will come in handy for this years Mountain Mayhem as it is smooth and pedals well. Very impressed. Can't see the benefit of the new carbon version as it is a stiff frame already. Watch out Scott Spark's!

very nice website. Thanks for it & congratulations , Thinking last year of changing my scalpel 3000, I became ago completely addicted to yeti.

My dream is now reality. I now own an asr-sl (carbon rearbase) since last august. I bought each components taking care of weight.

I lately bought the last items and now can show you the finished version. Actual weight is 10,1 Kg

Some other components to upgrade it are in my mind, but it will be for 2008. Weight will then be 9,4 kg

I just want to say that riding this bike is faboulus. Reactivity is estonishing.

I like my bike, I love YETI.  I plan some XC marathon in 2008 : Transvesubienne near Nice & transjurasienne.

My name is Anson Chiu, and I am from Toronto Canada. My ASR-SL is a late-year 2002 model size-small frame that I bought when I lived in Japan. Originally, it was built up with FOX-float 100 forks, and when I moved back to Toronto, I upgraded to my dream forks.

I haven't seen any bikes on yetifan with Maverick inverted forks...so here's the first :) This is the ultimate "parts" bike as the frame was built-up from hand-me-down parts from over 10 years worth of mountain bikes!!! The build list is as follows: - Maverick SC32 inverted forks with thru -axel front hub - 5th element rear shock - Hayes 9 carbon disk brake (front only) - XTR V-brake with Carbon-fiber brace (rear only) - XT rapid-fire shifter for rear (for precise shifting) - Raceface bashguard - Gripshift shifter for front (to prevent chainring rubbing) - 1999 XTR rear derailleur - chris king headset (from 1994, and 6 bikes ago...still running great!!!) - thompson stem and seatpost - profile carbon-fiber riser bars - avocet titanium-railed seat - X-pedo flat pedals (or clipless pedals, depending on the type of riding)

Paname's AS-R

I have picked up my brand new ASR SL carbon TI (2007) two weeks ago, after a wait of more than six weeks, so I wanted to show it off your site.

For the timing, I've just installed the majority of the components from previous bike, and the weight result is not so bad: 10,82 kg , so I am pretty sure than with some light components to reach a value under 10,5kg.

I hope, I will be able to see it on your website !!  Great thanks to the Yeti guys for that wonderfull "wild beast".

Paname.
