The one and only- This is John Parkers prototype Yeti, the bike that is the reason your on a Yeti today, Its now owned by Michael Staab. Owner of www.mtb-classic.de where you will find old skool Yeti, Fat Chance, and many others. Here is what he says about his bike. . Awesome bike with some really unique details. Frame Size is 19". top tube 59,5cm, wheelbase 109,5cm, chainstay lenght 47cm, head tube and seat tube are 69°. Seatpost diameter is 22,2mm (!). Rear Brake WTB Rollercam, BMX bottom bracket with Bullseye bearings. I'm really glad that i got it, will hang from the wall in my home-office and will get a ride from time to time (have to fix the headset first). Fits perfectly to my other 2 FROs since I own one bike for every Yetiman Logo now ;-). Here is the March Yeti of the Month, Its a Yeti AS-R that was owned by Tara Llanes herself! Now owned by Laura in the UK, this bike features all the best bits from Yeti and its sponsors from the 2002 season, this was one of Tara's training bikes. As seen in Chainsmoke 2 !! |

It rides like a soft tail and yet is so stiff and light, it accelerates like an F1 car and climbs like a mountain goat. I have tried to retain a part of the traditional Yeti image with the Ringle and Hed rims and combine them with the best of the 21st century with the Hope discs and Rockshox Psylo's. I love this bike, to me it is the best bike I have owned and that includes the 5 Yeti's that I already have. Note the Yeti Hed King rotors? A personal touch that is subtle and yet superbly cool I believe. The bike is not quite finished, with 2003 XTR and some other little touches like Yeti decals for the Hed rims but nonetheless, I am fairly happy Custom Yeti's don't get much more unique than this! Its a one off Yeti AS-R Tandem, made by Yeti as a wedding present to Steve (Part guardian of Yeti ;) ) and his new wife. Apparently it took some making, and there are no plans for a full production run. Maybe $25000 would make them change their minds?
Yeti of the Month August was spotted while I was at the Yeti factory. Custom parts are all over this thing, Ti ARC seat post, less cable guides, and more that are secret.
Pearlescent paint by Spectrum in USA- The guys who paint all new Yeti frames (For now-Yeti want to move it back in house, like in Durango) . I could write tons of crap about this bike, like, Custom King 12mm rear hub, custom painted this and that, special finish on the 'stickers' on the HED rims (natural carbon of the rims), 3 chain rings, custom Hope rotors, But I don't think I need to write such things, just check out the pictures.
I'm sure you'll agree, a pretty pimpy bike
So here is my ARC,the bike that started Yetifan, I have owned it since new, and try and ride it as much as possible. re-painted by Yeti at Durango in 95, its a 1993 ARC HT. frame no A0850 Parts include Ringle, Kooka, Mavic, Cooks, Chris King, Manitou 3, Yeti bars and Grips, Grafton brakes and Cranks, Onza bar ends, thumb Shifters, flite, Old XT and XTR
U1585 - ca.1991? The frame was originaly bought by one of the former owners of "Sykkeldelisk", the norwegian Yeti importer since 1990. The original color was "Forest green", and the original owner built it up with first generation XTR and a mag21. Eight years passes, and in november 1999, I found the frame after e-mailing a fellow in a norwegian newsgroup. He had bought the frame from a police auction for stolen bikes. we agreed on a price of approx. £180 - and my dreams started!!! This was my second Yeti - but I realized this would be a different project!! This was before I discovered EBay, and when thinking about how this should be built, I understood that getting the "right" parts for it would be a problem... After sandblasing, two different painters had a go at trying to powdercoat it, the second made a decent job - and the choice of color was inspired by the original Ultimate project bike in MBA. Jim Potter (back then at Yeti Cycles - now at Maverick American) provided me with original stickers, and my goal to build a 110% Shimano-free bike started!!! (Yes, it hasn't got a single bolt from the big-S)!!!! See the 04 Yeti's of the Month here!
