Just got back from an epic ride in through Tibet with 3 of my mates.
Completed a shortened version of the traditional friendship highway route (Lhasa to Kathmandu) with a slight detour via Mount Everest base camp! 6 days of riding and just over 500km in total! ...most of it
done at an altitude of over 4500m!!! Most days had a passes of over 5000m with the max altitude topping out at 5250m
My 09 575 never skipped a beat. Was the perfect beast to tackle to uphill (over 3600m of it! ) and
the nasty rutted rocky descents on the way back from basecamp and into Nepal. Too bad I cant say the same about my right Knee which gave up after the 4th day.... but pushed through the pain to riding
the last 2 days (approx 150km) with essentially no help from my right leg! Good times :) ... but paying the price now. Anyway, had a great time and just wanted to share some pics with the Yeti crew and
my all conquering, go anywhere, do anything 575!
Cheers,
Josh (Hong Kong)
