 Neil's 2003 AS-X
The First Yeti AS-X seen on Yetifan.
Thanks to Neil for these pictures of his AS-X .
Randy Pogue's AS-X
This is my brand new AS-X, which I have no problem refering to it as the best bike I have ever ridden! It was in the very first production run, and I got it before Yeti even had the build kits ready to ship!
2003 AS-X , XT shifters, cassette, deraileurs , Thompson post , Hayes 8" discs , FSA bars/stem, '03 Mavic Dee Max UST wheelset
I have been riding an XC bike for years, and I did not know what I was missing! I use this bike for all around, and freeriding; so far I have done 6' drops (not real sick, but I have just been doing it for 3 weeks!) and the bike just exudes confidence! , Way to go YETI!!
Mike's 2003 AS-X
So far he has got some Junior T while he waits for some Shermans, Mike says the bike pedals and handles amazingly well

Raoul's 2003 AS-X
I just got my Yeti ASX (my first Yeti) last Thursday and took it out to our favorite downhill trails for a "baptism" ride the next day.
Couldn't be happier! With 7 inches of travel up front and in the rear, it's more than I could ask for! Now I'm a certified Yeti Fan- Raoul

  Keiron's AS-X
This is my first yeti and follows a couple of marin full sussers. I come from a mainly cross country background but have been gradually increasing my travel over the last few years as I've got more daring on the downhills.
I finally took the plunge and bought the as-x frame last november after reading a review in MBUK (british mag) which said the as-x pedalled well enough to use for cross country. I initianDally built it up with my old manitou blacks and in made a superb hardcore xc rig. Recently I splashed out on the Sherman breakout plus' and what can I say? My riding has been transformed, I still beat my mates uphill in the short travel setting and the long travel setting just gives so much confidence, I've never been on such a fast bike!! I'm off to fort william soon to ride the world cup downhill course so I'll keep you posted how it performs.

Dan's AS-X

   Chris's AS-X
I send you some pics of my 2003 AS-X. Because of the wait for some parts it took till late spring 2004 to get it ready to ride, but now with all the golden parts it looks really "bling bling" I think. ;-)
I dreamed of owning a Yeti since the day I bought my first bike magazine with an black/white Ultimate on its cover. (Bike/Germany 09/2001) Now I have one and I am happy about it.
Ride on! – and thank you andy for the work on your page!

 Chucks AS-X
I thought the original ASX was a little underrepresented on your page. This thing tears up the climbs in Yeti's backyard, rocks on a 4x course, and can hold its own on gondola runs up at Vail. Ringle/D321 wheels, Marzocchi Z150 and a 5th Element handling the suspension, with Saint/XT/XTR rounding out the rest.

I've frequented your website since I first got my steed over two years ago. It's a great hub for Yeti loyalists like us, thank you providing us a tremendous resource. I'm sending you a picture of my 2002 Yeti ASX taken last October 2004. It's an awesome rig and one that I am very proud of. In the picture, it has full XTR, a Fox Vanilla front and rear. I've since replaced them with an 05 Sherman Firefly Plus and an 05 Swinger 4 Way. Anyway, hope you like the picture.
  Al’s 2005 AS-X (added 2005)
Here is the latest creation, a 2005 ASX. The bike shipped with a 5th element but I replaced it with a Fox DHX. I added a Thomson seat post, a FSA Extreme Pro headset, Shimano DX pedals, WTB Mutano Raptor tires, 11-34 cassette, Sram Rocket shifters, XT brake levers, Flite saddle, and a XT front derailleur. Just swapping the tires saved 2.6 pounds. The next piece to get replaced is swapping the stock front hub with a Chris King 20mm hub
  Stefan’s 2005 AS-X (added 2005)
Diabolus stem, seatpost and cranks, Answer protaper carbon, Hayes carbon brakes, Time Z-Pedals, Atomab Aircorp wheels, SRAM X0 + Trigger Shifter Best regards

Mark AS-X ADDED 2005 Check here for updates!
I have a yeti for you, totally custom, right down to the paint job. I think I may be a candiate for yeti of the month for sure. so, here is the story. the bike (a Yeti AS-X) was stolen, painted and recovered. since it was spray bombed, it needed to be repainted, so i took it to a body shop, and picked out a new colour, dark pearl purple. I have coppies of the original decals coming, and I have some parts off to be services. when I have them back, I will send the full picture. as for specs, its a 2004, with a 2005 breakout plus in camo, 5th element, I am running Chris King hubs laced to single tracks, Hope mono m4's, Husselfelt cranks, XT drive train right down to the cassette, all but the lx derailleur. so, that gives you the picture, its a nice bike! and its going to look pretty good! here is a pic of the frame. I'll send another pic in a couple of weeks when its all put together with decals and all!

"I purchased the bike in the USA as a standard 04 AS-X while visiting family, I then brought it back on the plane to the UK. Since then I have upgraded it quite a bit including Hope mono M4 brakes, Answer bars and X-lite stem. The bike is great, after riding a hard tail for a couple of years it was great to get back to a full sus. I think I will be keeping this bike for a while and I will definitely be looking at Yeti again for my next bike

- 2003 Monster T triple Canecreek headset
- Hayes 9 brakes RaceFace Evolve bars
- Deore Shifter and Derailer
- Chris King hubs and Mavic 729 rims
- Truvativ Holzfeller cranks
- Here's me story of how I got my yeti 2 years ago I finally saved up enough money for my 1st fully, which was a KHS Fettish and I traded in my JT T for a monster T triple and there was a Yeti ASX frame hanging in the back, but I didn't have enough money to build it up so I got the KHS. A year and a half later my frame cracked 2 weeks before I was heading out of town to enter in a downhill race and KHS didn't have that frame in stock and they didn't have their new KHS DH frame in my size so they gave me money for what the KHS frame was worth and they said I could get any bike I wanted so I got the Yeti ASX that was hanging up in the shop and took all the parts off it and put it on the Yeti and I went out of town and right away. I felt the difference between the KHS and the Yeti. The Yeti was more plush it felt like it had more travel then it did and it handled very good. after that I kept upgrading all the parts to the best parts very slowly and my dream bike finally started coming together like the way I wanted current setup on it up to date is 2003 monster T triple double x headset, raceface evolve dh barz, hayes 9 brakes untill my magura gustav m brakes come in deore shifter and derailer soon to be replaced to sram hollzfeller cranks mavic 729 rims laced to black chris king hubs

I am the happy owner of a 2004 AS-X. I finally realised my dream: riding a Yeti! There's maybe 10 of them in Belgium.
I built it with some parts of my x country bike and my dirt bike(some parts are 8 years old!). The result is just terrific!! On the pics, you can see my handmade system that allows me to use the three rings and riding in DH without any problems! I tried to build it light but still strong. It is not finished yet but it should be even better in a few months. The sherman(for sale!) works very well but I want a boxxer!

 Michael’s AS-X
After some years riding a Cube Freelight frame I decided its time to go for a new frame. There are some brands out there which are very special, Yeti is probably the most special one of them and i was a fan of Yeti bikes since i can think.
I read the reviews of the ASX but I did not really belive what was writen there but anyway I decided to go for it and it was definitely the best thing i could have done.
The ASX is just great and besids the weight it really goes uphill as well as downhill.I just finished a couple off weeks ago and I couldn´t be happier with my new bike.
For this reason and because there is no other Yeti from Austria on your page i thnik it should be added to your gallery.
It is a 2004 Frame, equipped with a brand new 2006 66 and the 5th element shock. It is eqipped with Rodi DH rims on Veltec hubs, a nice XT-XTR mix and Shimano Deore disc brakes with a big 203mm rotor in the front. Im using Roox Cranks, Azonic seat-tube and stem and a Club Roost DH handlebar. The 2.35 kenda tyres are good for rideing the park as well as going for long uphills.
regards from Austria,
Michael
  Adam’s AS-X
I thought I'd take some pics while it's still all shiny! I'm totally stoked with her, the ride was super plush straight out the box and seems perfect
The gear I have on it is:
- 66 RC2X forks - Deetrax wheelset - Sram XO rear mech and shifters - Saint front mech and crank - CNT Carbon downhill bar - DMR stem
- Cane Creek XXc Headset - DMR Mag 12 pedals - Thomson seatpost - WTB Saddle
- I've tried to get it as light as possible without compromising strength and I think I've done an OK job. All in all it's pretty light so I can go uphill, it takes a beating and generally rides great; a total change from my old Devinci Ollie which felt like it weighed more than I do! Couldn't be happier!!!

I used to have a Kona Hoss (hard tail) which I used for a year or so but after a trip to Afan I realised I needed a better bike a much better bike. I started lookinh around for a replacement and when I first saw the ASX I knew I had found the one I want.
Now it was down to being able to afford it. I orignally was going to get my Aunt in America to order one for me and then for her to ship it over to me, but I found this one on Ebay.
The difference cannot be put into words I now go off and over things that a few months ago I would have ridden round. Matt’s AS-X
I swapped a RMX for it a while back which was just too heavy duty for this country. Since then I have changed the forks to 36's put some DT swiss wheels on, diabolus bars and stem and the must have WTB saddle (expensive but essential). I took off my 5050's as they are crap. The only trouble is some blemishes on the laquer. Looking into a respray, a freind of mine can make the stickers so I just need to find a decent sprayer and colour. It can do anything, I love the way you can flick it round corners and accelerate away and take the hits like a bigger bike. I'm a Yeti addict can't get enough I'd only change this for a 303. Can't wait for the store to open.

Here are some pictures of my brand new as-x. It was really difficult to get this bike here in Germany, but my dealer was able to import an 2006 frame from switzerland. I'm really happy about my new ride, the greatest bike i have ever ridden.
I was a yeti-fan since my 16th birtday, so i am really glad to realize my dream of my own yeti after seven long years. Of course it has to look like an team-bike, so it was painted directly after its arrival in Germany.
To complete this bike, i have imported one of the must-have-WTB-saddles from Denmark, the onyl country in europe with this saddles in stock as it seems.

Here are some specifications: frame size: S fork: Marzocchi 66 RC2 ETA '07 180mm wheels: Sun S-Type rims and Sun/Shimano hubs brakes: Avid Coed stem: Truvativ Hussefelt bar: Truvativ Hussefelt shifters: SRAM X-9 Grip Shift front derailleur: Shimano XT rear derailleur: SRAM X7 crankset: Truvativ Hussefelt grips: Yeti ODI lock-on's tires: Maxxis Minion 2.5 Downhill Specific saddle: Yeti WTB Saddle seatpost: Truvativ Hussefelt weight 19kg
I know, there's enough space to tune, but the weight is no problem for uphill because of the geometry of the frame let it climbing very nice. In this case - go ride and have fun ;-) Cheers from Switzerland Adi
